Painter's Other Mana: Dude Artist Really Wants to Play with Dolls

The figurines are totems to the characters they portray. "When I make a figurine, I am investing in the totem of the ultimate self. My figurines are an excuse to play with dolls. I call them figurines, but I'll call them dolls before you can call them dolls," said Guevara of his figurines. Guevara's figurines are a constant work in progress. He dates each piece with the year they were created but none are ever complete. He changes each figurine by adding new details or repositioning their bodies. They are all made from plaster, wire, and re-purposed objects.
