Selected Poems II

HOLD ON TO THE MAST

see the surge go by
without clinging to
the darkest of days,

he wrote on my handkerchief
Bard, who saw me
crying 108 times
prostrated before Buddha

on this corner:
where a translucent
cloud of cabbages
labors 37 feet up
against the wind
and the spider unravels;

to write the cloud
is to quit being a specter
so that it shakes
the transgrammar marina helmsgirl
the etching color of nothing

the clinker in the gourds

the eye of two
never loved by man and woman;

so close, let us allow
the mountain to grow
a house almost sky;

at least an unsettled sock
with Hundertwasser's seams;

let everything grow.
i Let it grow!
The glazed branching skin
the Gobelin honey's tempera
the knuckles
extended in the hollowness
of coitus harbor

let's leave ourselves before silence
with no netting

walls
nor roof to the sky

'thus, people will finally understand the phrase: the straight line is atheist'.

SOSTENTE DEL MÁSTIL

ve pasar el oleaje
sin aferrarte
al día más oscuro,

escribió en mi pañuelo
Bardo, que me vio
108 veces llorar
postrada ante Buda

en esta esquina:
donde traslúcida,
una nube de coles
a 37 pies labura
contravientos
y desteje la araña;

escribir la nube
es dejar de ser espectro
para que blande
la transgramática marina timonela
el aguafuerte color a nada
la hulla en los guajes

el ojo de dos que
hombre y mujer nunca amaron;

tan cerca, dejemos
que crezca la montaña
casa casi cielo;

siquiera un calcetín volante
con la costura Hundertwasser;

que todo crezca.
¡Que crezca!
La glaseada piel enramada
el gobelino al temple de la miel
los nudillos
extendidos en la oquedad
del coito embarcadero

dejémonos ante el silencio
sin malla
muros
ni techo al cielo

'así, la gente entenderá por fin la frase: la línea recta es atea'.

LET'S TALK ABOUT THE STONE,

the sullen stone,
the one from tomorrow's page,
the one silencing the vocabularies,
the rumourous

memory of water
so close,
september winds.

The stone of sacrifice,
stone of two
bodies of light,
frayed reticles,
ochre clouds.

VAMOS A HABLAR DE LA PIEDRA,

la piedra hosca,
la de la hoja del mañana,
la que acalla los vocabularios,
la rumorosa

memoria del agua
tan cerca,
vientos de septiembre.

La piedra del sacrificio,
piedra de dos
cuerpos de luz,
retículas raídas,
nubes de ocre.

I LOOK WITH A STEALTHY CHANT

at the other side of the crystal.

A tarsus perches the branch,
suspending feet of water,

breathing the pore of the swamp
so as to sundown at the dorsum of the leaf

in which two poke at the loner's nodules,
such tibia caressing a dermis,

bone dust that stirs up
agitated

an unsharpened arolium
where drops weigh.

Untwisted,
mercury effervesces.

agitado

un arolio sin filo
donde las gotas levan.

Destorcida,
efervesce mercurio.
